Breweries in London – explore the capital’s flourishing craft beer scene

It seems as if the more you explore London, the more exciting micro-breweries appear on your radar. The city’s craft beer craze is still going strong, which is great news for those sunny afternoons. Whether you’re a true fan or just curious, it’s definitely worth dipping into the brewing scene here. But with so many options it can be difficult to know where to begin. So, we’ve put together this handy list to get you started. Expect cool locations, hip neighborhoods, and amazing brews.

Close to home – the Camden Town Brewery

A handy part of London if you’re staying with us. So why go further for your first taste of London micro-brewing, with amazing lager and an all-round cool place to hang out? Camden Town Brewery offer tours of their brewery, with tasting of their award-winning Camden Hells lager. And with food pop-ups and events, this is a pretty good place to while away some lazy hours!

South of the river – browse the ‘Bermondsey beer mile’

Along the railway arches of Enid St and Druid St and nearby you’ll find the area known as the Bermondsey beer mile. In fact, the arches are home to such a large number of breweries that we recommend being selective!

However, if you’re spoilt for choice, head to The Kernel brewery, one of the oldest in this area. The Kernel make popular and flavoursome IPAs, Pale Ales, London Porters and Stouts. However, get there early to savour at leisure – they open on Saturdays, from 9 am – 2 pm.

Head east to hip Hackney

Head over to Hackney Wick and Crate Brewery for an ultra-cool place to kick back. Alongside the river Lea, in among street art and warehouse studios, you’ll find their bar and pizzeria. Here you can sip at one of their beers – a decent range from a crisp lager to a rich stout. Or take the tour and taste the full range, and get inspired.
